Shitty day or the start of something new??
Have just sealed the envelope on my letter of resignation that I will be handing in tomorrow, and guess what..... I have no new job to go to!!
Part of this feels very good, I have not been happy at work for a long time now, so it feels like a weight off my shoulders, and it feels quite exciting that i can look for something new (am lucky that in my line of work people are always desperate for relief staff), although on the other hand it is quite scary, as up until 18 months ago I had my career mapped out for me.
It's also sad the way it has come about, went for a job that i used to do within the company, and it has taken them 4 and half weeks to decide to give it to someone else with no experience, and although this may just sound like sour grapes (I am only human so there is a good chance i just didn't do as well at interview) heed a word of warning, don't piss off the sour faced old bitch who used to be your boss before you got so pissed off working for her you jacked it all in only to find that she had a chief say in who was appointed for the post you applied for!!! (I feel much better for that little rant, now it is time to move on as I have wasted far too much brain space on my place of work and it is time to leave it behind).
A big thank you to all my friends who have been very supportive along the way to me reaching this realisation, and are now supporting me in my decision to become jobless, you know who you are x
On a lighter note had an excellent weekend in London, was very very hot, and although i think i would rather chop off my arm and eat it than have to face the tubes and London life in general on a daily basis, as a trip away - it was lovely, although that could have been the company ;)
Also, don't go to Fortnum and Mason for afternoon expensive tea if you are under the delusion (as i was) that it would come on a tiered silver platter, with the crusts cut off the sarnies and fresh cream as well as butter with the scones, and a variety of cakes not just dry old coffee cake (eergghh - i hate coffee cake) as this was quite clearly not the case, also service left a lot to be desired and toilets were not much better than M&S!
Thought for the day: 3 Nippled cousin fu**ers!!!
