Last day of the year

Well. i have to say that all things considered, I won't be glad to see the back of this year. Some good things have happened, like Mr. Fesk moving in, but the majority of the good things that are just starting to happen have only come about from some incredible crappy situations which may have originated from 2003 but seem to have taken me most of 2004 to get straight in my head and take action about.
However, I now firmly believe that things happen for a reason, and that because of this not been the greatest couple of years in my life, that there are a few good ones coming up. For a start off this year is hopefully off to a good start......
Spending tonight with good friends in Oscars, and then off to the Minster at midnight to see in the new year, then back for more drinking (the only downside being that i can't spend new year with the brummies aswell). Then after all this back to work for 4 days, then off to not so sunny Spain for a week of partying for Toni and Si's 30ths.
So all in all a new year to remember me thinks.
My new years resolutions have already being decided:
To be more positive
To make more time for me
To worry less and enjoy my life more (and go out drinking more too).

A poem

Twas the week after christmas
And all through the house
Nothing could move
Not even a mouse

Have eaten way too much, think I will have to make up for it on holiday by only drinking and not eating.
Spent lots of money yesterday; bought very domesticated things, a dishwasher, hoover, lovely bedding, and a very luxurious goose down duvet - nice, really didn't want to get up this morning.

Too many toxins

Like most of the population, I have spent the last 3 days eating and drinking, and not much else. I now feel I should spend the next few days living only off water and grapes. I have also slept a LOT. This may be to do with the toxins, but probably has a lot to do with working so much prior to christmas so I could afford the time off. Last night after meeting friends for mid afternoon drinks then going to oscars to eat fat bastard burgers I then had to refuse more alcohol in favour of my bed, where i managed to watch corrie and enders before starting to snore - loudly - according to Mr. Fesk. Today I think we are going to either go to the gym for a swim or go for a nice long walk. We are also going to buy a dishwasher in the sales!!! Domestic i know, but for anyone who ever had one then I think you know that your life could not go back to being dishwasherless.

Merry Christmas

Well its boxing day today, and yesterday i had a brilliant Christmas - my first one not spent working for 7 years!!!
Santa was very very kind to me, and I have got loads of lovely pressies, and I do mean loads, woke up to find a stocking at the bottom of my bed, had a cup of tea and some chocolates, then opened my pressies by the Christmas tree whilst watching VH1 and cheesy xmas songs.
Had a sausage sandwich, then dossed till my little brother picked us up to go to my mum and dads where there was a lovely turkey dinner - all the trimmings, and then watched all the Christmas soaps, home for 9.30 then passed out on sofa - nice.
So far today, have cooked a fry up and eaten it in bed, watching holly oaks, could life get better, may go for a walk this afternoon, we'll see.
Am now off work for 9 whole days, in which I think there will be plenty of alcohol and nights out with friends, culminating in new years eve. Then 4 days back at work before Spain (lots of friends in a villa)!!! Its almost scary how good life is at the mo, as I almost expefct something to go wrong. But A new years resolution is to be more positive , so I know it won't.

Merry Quimble

Well its that time of year - busy busy busy. All pressies are distributed, just a couple of cards left to give out, food shop done - yes I think that this xmas i can truly say I have been organized!!!
Had a lovely Thai meal in Leeds with friends last night, as won't see them again this year. Had works xmas do on mon, which was ok, then onto Toffs. Supposed to be going out again tonight, but may give it a miss, as also out tomorrow,a and am at work till 9 tonight and at 8 in the morning and want to be bright and breezy to give full attention to all my pressies - of which there are lots, taunting me in the living room.
Worked at a new place yesterday - had a great time, funny incident of the day, being stood in very small toilets in a pub next to a very well to do old lady who proceeded to whip out her gnashers and rinse them under the tap whilst smiling at me!!! Bizarre.

Bizarre day and events!!!!

Today weird but amusing things have kept happening. Firstly Santa Claus came to visit - in the guise of an 8 week old baby. Who thinks that dressing small children up in ridiculous outfits is degrading - not us!!!! Baby JJ looked fantastic, and oh so cute.
Then I had to got to the Vets with Norris, who had a gay sex injury. I actually couldn't stop laughing, as when at the vets he explained that there had been a build up of smega - SMEGMA - that had stopped his pee pee going back in after his gay sex sesh with Percy, his pee pee had then dried up and got poo dried on it - nice. However while the vet cleaned it and put lotion on it!!!! Norris got 'excited', not the kind of thing they show you on pet rescue is it!!! If it happens again, I have to put vaseline on it to help it go in easier!!!
Then, whilst sat at the computer there was a knock at the door, and when I answered it was the very nice man from the local Indian take away giving us a calendar for xmas. Was torn whether to see this as the nice gesture it was, or think to myself, ' I am a fat bastard and my new years resolution should be to eat less take away'. Although the dilemma now is that because the man is so nice, i want to go and but lots of stuff - so i suppose the marketing strategy has worked.

Thieving scum

Oh yeah, forgot to say that on tues my mum and dad were burgled, we think that my mum disturbed them, so they didn't get much, but what they did get was all the stuff you dread going, like my mums engagaement ring, and basically all the nice jewellry she has been bought over the time they have been married - oh yeah, and my grandads wedding ring (he died last year). There are no words really, apart from these people truly are scum. They know what they are stealing, it is obvious that a ring is an engagement ring, but they still take these things, peoples personal, sentimental possesions - which in all reality, probably aren't worth that much money!! Well, you know what, I hope that the fix it buys them causes a near fatal overdose!!! SCUM

Another week nearly over

Not much to say really, just thought i had better update. Went out Sunday afternoon for a few quiet drinks which turned into an all day sesh at The Star, and culminated in me wanting to be sick in the taxi - thankfully i wasn't, but felt very rough at work the next day - I learnt never to mix personal care and a hang over a long time ago, but somehow keep forgetting!!!
Been a busy week really, went to Scarborough and Whitby with work today, nice but cold, and then met my friend Ian for something to eat in town. Now seems to be the time of year when everyone is trying to frantically catch up with other, which is nice, but quite wearing on the liver. Plans between now and xmas include works night out on Monday, night out with friends weds and thurs, and of course meeting up at annual school get together on xmas eve - bit of a tradition, but shame that Miss M won't be there this year. Then seeing friends on 27th, then of course new year, and before you know it, it will be time for a whole weeks drinking with friends for their 30's in Spain - yipee, a good couple of weeks ahead. Hope the bank balance can cope.

Beautiful South

Saw The Beautiful South in Sheffield last night. I have wanted to see them live for ages and am pleased to report that they lived up to every expectation!!!! They even sang the song I really wanted them to sing (Woman in the wall) as their last encore, when I really didn't expect them to sing it, as it is one that is not well known for their first album - fantastic!!
The band and singers were really good, and the covers they have done were really cool, they sang S Club 7, Don't stop moving, Grease, Your the one that i want and some others - truly good performers, I would highly recommend them!!!
The support band however (A Girl called Eddie) was very average, she had a good voice but the songs all sounded the same, and were boring to listen to, and really made you wish that you had just come in at 9pm with the thousands of other people who obviously had inside information!!!
Hopefully off the The Star this afternoon, for Sunday lunch and a few beers - lovely.

Christmas

Been paid to do someones christmas shopping with them today, which was quite cool. Then went and had my hair cut and popped into town for a spot of late night shopping, which always makes me feel christmassy. We put up our decs the other night, I always used to have a two tone tree, but was surprised to learn that Mr. Fesk favours tacky tinsel - and the more the better!! We even have tinsel in our toilet - well on the loo roll holder anyway, so house not looking as tasteful as usual this year, but it does feel very cosy.
Having the day off tommorrow to tie up my loose ends of xmas shopping, I have done the majority on line but still need to buy things like paper, etc.
Going to see The Beautiful South on sat, which I am really looking forward to, as I have been a fan ever since they were The Housemartins, in fact I bought The People who grinned themselves to death as a present to myself on CD last week.
In fact, the next few weeks look very promising indeed, only two more weeks of work then off for xmas and new year, then back for a week then off to spain. Yep. Definatley a good month coming up, might even get to meet Mr. Fesk's imaginary friends!!!

Money!

Money is a depressing subject - unless you have lots - which i have not! I wish that my credir cards would stop being so generous and buying me things, its all their fault!!!!!

The Evils of alcohol

Met miss rum last night in Yates at 4.30 to celebrate her oldness, and immediately started on doubles. Things deteriorated further when we went to the triples for singles bar, and had a few of these. Then to The Bedroom, I mean, for gawds sake, we must have been drunk, as i would not normally been dead in there. Then a takeaway on the way home, nice. Think i danced in my parker and coat round my hand bag - classy, and was rude to people i didn't know. A good night really, and in bed by 10.30

Carrot cake and a cup of tea

Oh my God, last night, to celebrate Miss McGraths birthday, i went round to her house and had tea and cake with her and her mum and dad. And really enjoyed it.
In fairness, she has been really busy, so didn't have the inclination to go out, but it was really weird as we have been celebrating her birthday together for the last 20 years - (bloody hell!!) so have now done the full range, from ice cream to tequila, and now tea!!!!
