Going OK

Well that's the first week done then. Is going to be quit good I think, and interesting, although slightly distressing at times if what I've come across already is any indicator.
Met Kelsey last night. She is Gorgeous, and Mr. Fesk and Stu were manly drinking champers and smoking cigars. Kelsey didn't wake up once, the whole time we were there, so hope this bodes well for a nice quiet baby for them.
Going round to catch up with the girls tonight to dissect our placements, and maybe have a few drinkies.
At work doing paid stuff tomorrow, although not sure how that is going to work out long term with 2 1/2 hours travel every day mon to fri and full time hours as well as working weekends - we'll see. However I feel student poverty heading my way ;)

Congratulations

Mrs. Rum finally gave birth in the early hours of this morning, to a baby girl - Kelsea Grace, congratulations mummy and daddy Smith. I finally get my wish - someone to buy pink fluffy clothes for!!!
First day of placement went ok, altho practice teacher has informed me she will be on holiday from today till the end of next week, but has left me an induction prog so should be OK. Head is banging though. Got to leave early too.

Last day of freedom

Placement starts tomorrow, and i have to admit I'm a bit nervous. Its been a long time since i was the new girl, and i really do not have a clue what to do, whereas at least in the past with new jobs I've had some idea of what is expected.
Mr. Fesk passed his exam - hurrah!!!
Dropped The Smiths of at maternity this morning, so fingers crossed not long now ;-)

"Where are the ladies?"

Had an excellent night in Leeds on Friday, apart from the fact that a lot of the laces we went were dead - and i mean eerie dead, not just quiet. The last time I went to most of them you were queuing a long time to get in and they were rammed, they are now smattered with rejects from the village of the damned - although had a good night because of it as I couldn't stop laughing.
Also one of the bars we stumbled in to was a gay bar - and whilst ordering the drinks i innocently asked -'Do you know where the ladies are?' to which the scantily dressed boy toy behind the bar equally as innocently answered, 'well, just look around, they're all over'. Hmmmm.
Went to see my mum today, took the flowers and card, and it just popped into conversation about feeding birds with lead pellets. I (again innocently) passed comment on this, only to be mocked - as far as i have been concerned all my life, birds eat pellets of food, and lead pellets were fed to them to kill them. Fesk took great delight in telling me, that this is not the case, they are shot!! Still think it is a misleading phrase to use, and an easy mistake to make.
Still no baby.

What about yer wee laddie

Had a lovely time in the Edinburgh, had a look round the castle and bought some Rocket dogs!!! Train took a long time coming home though and for the last hour of the journey had to listen to the very loud Mobile conversation of some up her own arsed twat that should not be let near children never mind teach them as i think she was planning to do.
Still no baby, although haven't spoken to Mrs Rum for the last couple of days - so who knows where she is right now.
Spending a nice day in York today, going to go and get York cards then go to the Castle museum and the Art gallery, then meet friends in town for a few drinks. Nice. Maybe even go to Betty's for afternoon tea.

Train or galloping horses

Went with Mrs Rum this morning to the maternity clinic and heard the baby's heart beat (never heard on before, it was great) apparently if it sounds like galloping horses its one sex and like a train the other - sounded like a train to me, hope to God we get to find out whether tits true or not soon.
Spent our first day of hols most productively - not. Cleared out the sky plus of crap though.
Edinburgh tomorrow, hope its a nice day.

Holidays

Had an absolutley cracking night on weds - nor sure how Goth we looked, more scary I reckon. Went to a few nice bars in Leeds, then Creation after, and finally went to sleep about 5, which did not feel so good the next day, as apparently my body no longer does hard core drinking with no sleep 2 days in a row, and I had to be at a placement meeting in Northallerton at 2 - must have looked great.
Needless to say, I had to decline the actual end of term drinks as i was very tired, and have not quite started my hols as have been doing a few days actual work. Finish at 6 tonight, and then when Mr. Fesk gets back from Oxford the hols begin. Going to Edinburgh Tues and Brum next fri, lovely.
Good luck Mr. Fesk.
Still no baby.
Often my job puts me in bizarre situations - most of which i take for granted. However yesterday we went to the seaside, and went to eat in quite a nice fish and chip restaurant, Anyhoo, one of the ladies has the habit of pushing her false teeth out with her tongue when she gets annoyed - which she did, and they fell out under the table, which then caused her to start shouting, and her and the other member of staff were scrabbling under the table for them. At this point, it suddenly struck me how bizarre this looked, and I got the giggles, and had to hide my face behind the menu. I think I am truly lucky to have my job, never a dull minute, and no crappy office politics.

Free

Well that's it, all done. Apart from a meeting with my tutor and my practice placement teacher tomorrow I am on holiday!! Yipeee
Think the exam went OK, we can but see, but think that the answers I am confident about should cancel out the effects of the negative marking for the ones I guessed at. Anyway, celebrated with a couple of drinks, which resulted in me being picked up 7 1/2 hours later after drinking doubles all night, but was a good chance to get out with the people on my course. Think there may also be a few drinkies tomorrow night which is officially the last day!!
Also going out tonight in Leeds for one of the girls birthdays - dressed al la Goth - hope no one kicks us in for taking the piss, as I am fairly certain i don't look good - although I do like the black lipstick a lot!!!

:$

The day has dawned, hope the snow, and the fact i love snow so much is a good omen!
Some crap form My head right now:
Section 8 children's act 1989 residence and contact orders
Section 1 Mental health act 1983 - assessment
Section 2 mental health act 1983 - treatment
Section 47 Community care act 1990, local authorities duties to assess and provide services
section 29 national assistance act 1948,
Section 21 national assistance act 1948
Oh my god what the hell do the last two refer to????!!!
Ah, S21, community care services which must or may be provided, section 21 provision of residential services.

I think that I should be more nervous

Law exam tomorrow, despite the fact that i have done so much revising over the last few days that my head feels like it might explode, i really should have done more and started sooner!!! Also, although there are some small nagging pangs of fear, i think there should be more. Might have read all info, but not sure hoe much I've absorbed, particularly the dates and section numbers of all the different acts. Oh well. We'll see.

Rarrrrgggghhhhh

In between getting tired of this revision lark now, but a little bit of me enjoying it. Like the note taking and flash cards, also, think my brain has spent so many years vegetating that it is now a little like a sponge, absorbing as much new info as possible and quite liking it. Whether it is bothering to retain any of it - well, we will see on tues.
Going out for Claire Sincair's (such a cool name) birthday on weds in Leeds, and the theme is Goth. Mixed feelings, could be a laugh, but have no shoes to wear, bought black lippie and nail varnish though!! Only prob is that the cool tights they sell in Classix are all one size, and i am fairly sure that it is not my size!!! Lol.

Just thought I'd let you all know - new piccies available shortly.

Grey matter hurting

Revision for law exam going OK now I have actually got started. Have finished looking at mental health, so if you want to know how you go about getting someone sectioned just ask!
After hard weekend, all friends seem to be doing OK.
Baby has still not arrived!! Did have some fun with those moniters though, is odd to think a person we have not met yet will soon be crying through them!!
Fesk is in London, so have house to myself, brilliant - my one opportunity to watch all the crap I want on telly and i have to revise!! Bum

An interesting day

Have just spent the day at Fountains Abbey on a team 'away day' for NYCC safeguarding team (child protection), and met all the people i will be working with for the next 4 months. They all seem very nice, but was a bit weird being able to watch all the team dynamics as i had absolutley noithing to contribute, so just sat and listened. There were sandwiches, cakes and games too.

Soooo tired

I don't know why i am so tired, had a full day of revision planned and had to leave the library early and catch the chav express (No 4 bus) home, as my eyes wanted to shut rather than take in the finer points of the Welfare benefits system. Oh well, tomorrows another day and i WILL manage to revise for the bloody law exam which is hanging over my head.
Not a good weekend for friends all in all this weekend - they know who they are, and they know they have my love.
Wish i wasn't working tomorrow.
Oh yeah - will tell you about the sad sacks that are our neighbours some time soon and their bizarre need to own the road out side their house.

Hmmm

Weird few days for reasons i won't go into.
However, had a lovely night last night at S & V's (probably the last just the 4 of us), and have just spent a lovely day at Brimham rocks, there was still snow but it was lovely and sunny.
Happy birthday to my mum too.
