Work and stuff

Am really enjoying being a support worker again, I had forgotten how good my job can be when you take all the management bollocks away from it. Have been for a pub lunch nearly every single day, and although the work is physically more demanding, i think I prefer it.
Went to see JJ on Monday. He is gorgeous, he is a very big baby, 58 cm long and he has a very big head - 40cm circumference, which Makaela spared no details of how excruciating that was to push out of what she is now referring to as her feluga (think that is how you spell it - you know the current war zone jobbie). Anyway, he fell asleep on me for over an hour, nuzzling into my neck, smelling of that gorgeous baby smell, although Mr. Fesk did ring and tell me that if I thought that there was any chance i could catch a baby form touching him then I had to put him down.
Went round to friends last night and watched Troy - not the fastest film in the world, and wasn't helped by the fact i was knackered, but Brad Pitt was worth it (still not a patch on George though). Anyway, was cooked a really nice (hot) curry, and then given home made SWEET popcorn, nice!

Scissor Sisters

Went to Doncaster last night to watch the Scissor Sisters. Firstly before I catalogue the events of the evening, can I just say that they were fantastic!!! I suspect they would have been even better if we didn't have to stand in a smoked filled room for 2 and a half hours before they came on, listening to crap dance music at full volume and some old drag queen as the support act that nearly made my ears bleed.
However, aswell as the excellent music, last night was also eventful in that I had my first ever (and hopefully last)violent outburst towards a stranger.
Basically, there was a very drunk man (at first I thought he may have been a mentalist, although by the end of the night I came to the conclusion he was just a drunk twat, so no need to forgive him for his actions) stood behind us. He was in his 40's and was dancing in such a manner that even though we were all crammed in like sardines people had moved to give him his own large space - oh yeah, and he also smelt BAD!
Anyway, throughout the evening, he basically kicked, hit and spat at us in the guise of being drunk and just banging into us - he was actually doing it on purpose but so as to avoid confrontation every time you turned round he acted like he was so spaced he hadn't realised. This culminated in him punching me on the back of the head during the encore, now a) there was no way this could have been an accident and b) it really hurt, which cause me to turn round, scream obscenities at him and shove him - hard - twice! He again pretended not to know why i had done this, so after turning around to watch the last couple of minutes of the show, i decided enough was enough, and turned round, so see him right behind me again so shoved him very hard again, this time sending him flying, and left the building.
For as much as this amused my friends, i didn't really feel very proud of myself for not remaining calmer and being the bigger person, but at times I feel that when people are so horrible, losing your temper is the only avenue you can get down whilst keeping your sanity.

Hello JJ

After a VERY long wait, my friend Makaela finally had her baby on Friday. She had to be induced in the end, and even then, apparently the baby did not really want to come out.
They had already picked the name for the baby, as they had found out the sex from an earlier scan. So we have all been buying little Jasmine lots of pretty pink frilly dresses for the last 4 months. So I guess you can imagine the surprise, when (yes, I'm sure you can guess what is coming) little Jasmine came out as James.
Quite frankly we are all a little bit gutted that we can't constantly buy more frill pink stuff, as we really wanted a girl, but now he is here I can't wait to see him! Even though the thought of my old pulling and drinking partner married with child is slightly freaky, i am really pleased for her and Moses.
I however have been dong nothing very grown up over the weekend, and spent all of Friday in various pubs in Birmingham, drinking constantly for 11 hours - didn't actually still think i had it in me, but hey ho, I think we will consider JJ's head well and truly wetted - and there was free Nordic helmets and wigs when you got your flyer stamped FIVE (yes that's FIVE non random times Jamie), which sadly, even at the age of 30, helped encourage the proceedings.

Feels like a good place to be

Start my new job today, have my first shift in Huntington, hope that they are nice to me. In fact have pretty much full time work lined up for the next 6 weeks!!
Also have booked myself a place on the 'mature students' open day at York Uni, to help get the ball well and truly rolling on the masters in social work front. I actually feel very excited about things for the first time in a long time - work wise.
my mums smelly dog has come to camp out again while they have their new kitchen fitted - poo on our carpet at your peril mister!!
Fairly lazy weekend, interluded by some shopping and some drinking - what more can you want out of life, possibly more enjoyable without the PMT which seems to be getting worse as I get older, if I ever have kids, they are seriously going to have to learn to not be in my face at the wrong time of the month, although at this rate if I ever do decide i want them i will be so close to the menopause it won't be an issue!

How can I drink a bottle of Bacardi but after 2 glasses of wine i'm anyones?

Leaving do last night. Spent the evening in Harkers. Was a really good evening, and thanks very much to everyone who came. There were a couple of people it would have been nice to see there, but it was still a good night. Also there was wine, which i never tend to drink unless out with work and then I get very pissed very quickly, and get gobby and silly. You would think that common sense would tell me that of all the places to give in and drink wine knowing that this happens, works nights out would not be the best one - but hey, they seem to bring out this need in me to look a twat. I think the worst wine scenario was when i was actually the manager, and you know setting a good example - i didn't. Drank 3 bottles of wine as no one else was drinking it, then went to Toffs where Nicky bet me I wouldn't snog this bloke (she picked) for a fiver. I did, and when i met him for a date the next week, i realised she should have paid me more!!! In fact i don't think she ever paid me at all!

Another new home for Dominoe

Spent some of yesterday relocating the cat again. Turns out that Catherine is allergic to her too. Me and another Friend have passed comment that at the moment there seems to be lot of people with allergies around - especially to cats, nearly everyone you talk to is .... What is wrong with you people? Where you not exposed to enough dirt as children that your immune systems are so wussy!!! If / when I have kids, I shall rub small mammals on them from birth to make sure that they are able to experience the joy of animals.
However saying that, many thanks to Catherine for trying, it was much appreciated and helped us out immensely. Dominoe is now safely ensconced with another friend and now has a feline friend called tilly, so hopefully, fingers crossed this sad tale has a happy ending!!
Leaving do tonight....Hope people turn up, also hope I am not ill tomorrow.
CRB check came through, shame really as I was quite looking forward to having a week to myself dossing around being unemployed, but hey ho, the money will be good, starting on Monday, although taking advantage of my new flexible working and having Friday off so I can visit friends in Brum.

A nice weekend!

Spent a lovely weekend in Northumberland with Mr. Fesk, lots of walks and sea air, just what he needed to make him feel a bit better. He's still off work, but hopefully been out of the house for the weekend to let all the de catting settle will have helped. Visited Alnwick castle and gardens, they were fantastic, and this is the castle they used for Hogwarts, but thankfully there weren't too many brats around.
Also visited some very dodgy places on Saturday evening in our quest to find a nice country pub, think some of the places on the edge of Newcastle have definitely featured highly on Bravos 'Toughest pubs in Britain', briefly drove through a place called NewBiggin, this was actually quite scary, we certainly didn't get out and ask for directions. Ended up having a very good curry in Morpeth, the place itself was a little odd, but the curry was worth going back for.
Just spoken to Catherine, the cat relocation has gone well, except that Catherine has started to show symptoms that could indicate she is allergic to her!!! So fingers crossed everyone!!
Having a really bad hair day! Had it all cut off VERY short the other week, and I am currently going through the 'getting used to it' stage, which for me translates as looking like a bag of shit whilst I try and simulate what the hair dresser did until I can interpret it in my own (always much less trendy) way.
Thought for the day: Quite enjoying not having a job to go to.

Long time no speakie crap

Hello there,
unfortunately the computer has been down for the last week and a half so I haven't been able to log the bizarre events of my life (not that i would have had time).
Firstly i finished my job last Sunday (hurray) and got lovely leaving presents but for the first time ever did not regret leaving one jot, although i will miss some of the people I worked with, although look out York, leaving do next Thursday!
However got home from last night at work to find Mr. Fesk VERY poorly, and ended up in A & E, as he had had a massive asthma attack, triggered by the flu, various other things and my cat. He finally got out of hospital 3 days later and since then i have scrubbed the house, had the sofas dry cleaned and had the carpet steam cleaned in a bid to make it cat dander free for him to live in. Sadly, Dominoe, my beloved cat has however had to be re homed, as otherwise there may have been a major threat to Mr. Fesks health, especially whilst he recovers form the damage doem to his lungs during the asthma attack. He has gone to a good home though, my friend Catherine is providing respite care for her, and if all goes well and both parties are suited then she will have a permanent home there. Dropped her off this afternoon, it was very sad, but she seemed quite taken with the cellar!!!
Going to Northumberland tomorrow as part of Mr Fesks birthday present. Although he is still not great, we figured that all the fresh air couldn't harm him, and if he gets tired we will just have to retire to our four star hotel room. Hopefully going to see the castle that they use as Hogwarts in Harry Potter, and have nice brisk walks on the beach - I suppose at least we don't have to ask anyone to feed the cat whilst we are gone :-(
Thought for the day: I think that giving away my cat equals big commitment to my relationship.
