More fitness - I'm impressed

Carried on our cycling spree yesterday and biked into town. We had even ended up in Toffs the night before and not left right till the end!!!
Discovered that there had been a fight in the street (its a very short street) where I work, at 12.30 in the afternoon!!! It involved school kids. I knew it had taken place as one of the girls I work with had been in the street when the kids had been chasing the boy, but as she was with someone we work with hadn't been able to do anything. Thank god she didn't try to, as it turned out it was front page news last night and the lad had ended up being stabbed in the head 3 times!!!!(Think that he is OK). These where school kids for Gods sake!!! This and another fight we happened upon last weekend after the gallery has sparked a bit of a debate about whether or not you should get involved in fights - my personal feelings are that I would hate to think that it was someone I loved in that position and no one did anything to help. Especially when it is unprovoked. But on the other hand I would hate to think that anything happened to them for helping either. School kids with knives for Gods sakes. Scary. We really live in a fucked up world!!!!

Brid

Have had a lovely family day out today, just me, my mum and my dad. We went to Sewerby near Bridlington to where we scattered my grandparents ashes as it is 2 years ago today that my Grandma died. Had a little walk along the cliffs, then went to Brid (where predictably it rained) then had fish and chips, apple sponge, a look around Boyes and bought some tat, then an ice cream soda. Lovely.
Good night ahead too, R is home for the weekend from London, so we are going out tonight and meeting her new bloke.
Also, Good luck to N, who is climbing Ben Nevis for charity tomorrow - hope they give you plenty of fag breaks!!! ;-)

You now that feeling when your tongue would soak up all the water if you stuck it in a river......

Mr. Fesk's birthday yesterday. He really liked his present. Got him a bike, so we have cancelled our gym memberships and are going to start biking to the uni etc. Biked into town yesterday, and had lunch at the living room. Later on met up with people for a messy drinking sesh, which ended up in The Gallery. God its shit in there. Starting to think i may have issues with alcohol, as although felt slightly rough around the edges, D had to take the day as holiday. Think that my body has been finely honed to tolerate a lot of alcohol over the years - not sure if that is good or bad.
Went grey hound racing on fri, was really good. Although very chavvy and a bit bizarre. Lost more than i won.
Bobby (family dog) is here to saty for a few days. He's getting on a bit now, so its always a bit of a fingers crossed job whenever he comes into my care.

quickie

Been a bit crap at updating this week, but you know, busy busy....
Have got my timetable for uni. Not looking too bad, bit more intensive than my degree, but it is a masters you know darling!! Also have to do a 2 page case study before I even start - hope that i haven't taken on too much.
Its Mr. Fesk's birthday on Sunday. So we are going to Doncaster to watch the greyhound racing on Friday - should be a laugh, then i suppose the rest of the weekend will involve alcohol!!!

O.C.D

Our new garden rubbish recycling bin has been delivered and alongside it a new strain of O.C.D for me.
Although i do not strictly agree with the fact that we are part of the trial for reducing land fill by York city council (from Oct we will only have our regular bins emptied fortnightly, and the other weeks will be garden rubbish (have they seen the size of our garden!!)) as I think that they should have phased it in more gradually alongside a programme of educating people how to reduce their household waste, as for a lot of people their rubbish is just going to fester, and the local rat population will boom. I do however agree that something need to be done, and for us, it has made us consider how we can recycle more. I have now introduced a system in the back garden (yes, here the O.C.D kicks in) where we can now recycle foil, plastic, and cardboard, along with the usual garden waste, paper, bottles, tins and cans.
I think that like all my O.C.D quirks, they begin, as this has, under the guise of enthusiasm, then turn mildly darker. I'm sure that Mr. Fesk must be thrilled.

Old age

God, one weekend of being 31, and I feel i could sleep for a week. I did spend the entire weekend drinking though, had a BBQ fri and sat, then went out for a leaving do on Sunday night, which even though i told Mr. Fesk to ensure this did not happen, I ended up in Toffs, and then had to work a 12 hour shift the next day...... messy.
Also, I know I haven't been for ages, but what right have they and WHY have they swapped the male and female upstairs toilets round???? Surely this is just asking for trouble, especially from old piss heads like me who have been going there for around 14 years..... old habits die hard if ya know what i mean!!!
Anyway, it was gay night, and was slightly odd.
Huge congrats to J and F, J has taken great delight in the fact that she is beating both Nicky and I down the isle. Has surprised us all I think, but i couldn't be happier for them.
Also congrats to L - I bet its fannytastic having your own house, can't wait to come over and see it!!!
Also congrats to both L and T for running round Brum city centre like mentalists - how many cigs did you both need after ladies???

Fanny fiddler

Spent ages yesterday updating my blog, it was full of amazing insights into being 31 and what it meant o me, and then it got deleted - fannytastic, so i can't be arsed to recreate the masterpiece, so i guess you'll all have to to wait till your 31 to see.
A holiday story that i forgot to tell..........
Was walking up a small street in Kos about 3am (maybe a little worse for wear, when I could smell feta cheese, I innocently commented to Mr. Fesk that I could smell feta and that it was making me feel hungry.........Mr. Fesk then promptly pointed out to me a pile of sick i had not noticed, and informed that it was not feta I could smell, but that it was the smell of vomit that was tickling my taste buds!!! Nice. Someone's sick made me feel hungry.
