Were have the last few days gone??

Done quite a bit since the last update, the best bit being that we went and stayed with a friend and went out in Leeds for a friends 30th (you old bag!!!) Went to The Wardrobe and had a lovely meal - only slightly marred by the crap service, and then got in free (because of the crap service) to the club downstairs. Was very funky, not my usual cheese fest, but had a fantastic night, and got v drunk.
Went to student night in toffs on Thursday, it was very pimply in there, but was made more bearable by the copious amounts of slippery nipples consumed in the Pitcher and Piano before hand. Also, some girl weed (on purpose) on the floor of the downstairs toilets (in Toffs of course) by the sinks, gross!!
As you will have read form Mr. Fesks blog, a taxi driver then offered to give us some spam, for free!!!
It is a birthday fest this week, there was the 30th on sat, it is a 31st (haha) today, and another 30th (hehe - Miss Rum is joining the old bags club ) on thurs. For this one there will be drinking in the Varsity when school gets out. Then another on sat, but that one is only 8, so doubt that that will damage my liver.
Also, there are 2 more 30ths in Jan, and the celebrations are booked for that one, got booked last week - hurrah!! There are 10 of us (i think) going to Espana, for a weeks Sangria and duty free - oh yeah, and it has only cost us £42.50, for travel and accommodation, thank you very much!!!

A shitty day

One of the ladies I support had died when we went to get her up this morning, it wasn't expected, and it has been a horrible sad day.
I'm glad it wasn't me that found her, but as the other service users don't understand, we had to pretend for them that nothing had happened, which was quite hard.

Looking down at yourself and smiling

I am Remembering more and more what it was about my job that i liked so much before i felt the need for promotion. At this moment in time I like going to work mainly because i never know what is coming at me, and also I seem to be having a lot of those 'looking at yourself doing something from above you' moments, and what I see often makes me smile.
For instance yesterday i supported a lady to a computer class, where everyone in the group was quite able, with only a minor learning difficulty, and we had a great conversation about soap operas, which would have been dismissed as quite sad in many circles, but i like the soaps, and here i was been paid to work with these people, and it was really enjoyable, as they were really enthusiastic about the subject and did not feel the need to apologise for being so - refreshing!!
Also think that I am going to start grading disabled toilets - sad, but necessary!!!
So far my favourites are Marks and Spencer in Parliament street, accessible and roomy!! 9 /10
Burger Kings isot bad, but the ramp into Burger king itself is a killer. 5 / 10
Yates are quite good, but because of this, make sure you go there to eat early as otherwise it gets packed, ands full f other wheel chair users!!! 8 / 10
Bar 38 is also apparently not bad, though have not been in myself. 7 / 10
Varsitys toilets are crap, as they are downstairs, and the wheel chair accessible entrance is always locked - not a friend of the disabled I feel. 0 / 10
Monks Cross is always a winner, excellent toilet facilities here!!! 10 / 10
Sad, sad i am a very sad person.
As for being Santa's elf as commented on by Mr. fesk, it was a long time ago.

Easy money

Have just finished work - this is not as bad as you might think given that it is sunday, it basically involved having breakfast, watching Hollyoaks, going out to lunch, then watching Eastenders, and getting paid well for it!!! Going out for tea at The Living room tonight, then onto the comedy club - will let you know my review......

In the words of Olivia....Lets get physical

If I am not losing some weight at the moment, then I will be seriously annoyed. My job has just become the most physical it has been since i became a manager, and on top of that I have started going swimming at least 3 times a week, with hopes of starting using the gym again when i feel a bit fitter.
Over the last couple of days I have been in to town (with service users) every day, and had liver and bacon thrown at me, had rude ignorant lazy bastards watch me struggle to the back of the bus with a disabled person while they sat in the disabled seats, and had people stare at us while I supported someone to eat their lunch - am still really enjoying not being a manager though!!!!!
However, (I know that none of my friends reading this are the kind of people to do this sort of thing, but feel the need to to rant anyway...... )If you see a person with a learning difficulty out in the community, please do not stare at them like they are from outer space, even if they are making strange noises - this is probably just the way they communicate how they are feeling!!! Also remember this - you probably see much worse when out in town on a Friday night!!! The best thing to do is react as you would do to any other person (which as we are British is probably ignore them). Oh yeah, and if you see someone struggling to open a door and get through it with a wheelchair at the same time - help them!!! It amazes me how many rude people there really are out there. On a bonus point though, the opposite to these twats is there are also a lot of people out there who really go out of there way to help, and it is much appreciated.
Sermon over :-)

Oh the shame!

You may remember me saying i got caught speeding (35mph in a 30mph zone), well a letter came this morning from Humberside police informing me that in my case they felt that rather than the fine and points it would be beneficial to offer me to go on a 'speed seminar' instead. Which, lets face it, is a lot better than the points on my license, but oh the shame of having to sit in that room with all the other 'offenders' and watch videos of victims families. Suppose it will be a 'life' experience.
Saw Bridget Jones last night, was excellent, def as good as the first, Mr. Darcy still gorgeous, what was quite cool was that at the time i saw the first one it mirrored my life, and so did last nights (sad and soppy I know, but true). As a prelude to going to see the edge of reason, me, Miss C and Mr Fesk sat and watched the first one on video on thurs night and ate chocolate (it is true, once you get used to DVD's it is very hard to go back to VHS).
Plans for tonight are still open at this moment in time, so who knows what he next diary will bring!!!

A year ago today

A year ago tonight I went on my first date with Mr. Fesk, a date which lasted more than 24 hours, and for which i ended up pulling a sickie at work for the first time in my life ever (I know what your filthy minds are thinking about the 24 hours, but it was nothing like that!!!).
Anyway, here we are a year later, so we are going out to celebrate and eat gorgeous food. There are other things i would say were this not a diary on the internet, but it is, so i won't.
Anyway, all I will say is who would think that life could change so much in the space of a year, and all for the better.
Just received a letter that I was expecting - got flashed by a speeding camera last week, am gutted as had actually slowed down, then got distracted by the bloody camera!! Think I may have told you this already..... anyways, the letter has come, and I was doing 35 mph in a 30 zone, that is so me and my luck. Anyway, anyone reading this keep your fingers crossed, as it is not set in stone I will be prosecuted, I just have to supply my details, although i am sure that what i will get is 3 points on my license and a small fine, 13 years of driving and these are my first points - gutted!!!!
Just finished a shift at a house i hadn't been to before, worked with two really nice staff, one of whom is a dancer at Spearmint Rhino, and said she could sort me out some tickets, which i thought would be quite cool, don't think I would go on a night she works though, as would maybe be a little weird.
Anyway, off for a small snooze now,as up since 6 and want to have a good night.

OOER!!!

Last night some bloke was sick on my shoe in Toffs!!! Gross, and he then offered to lick it off!!!
Other than that we had a good night. Havn't been in there for ages, reminded me of going there for my birthday, and wished everyone was there again.
Just made my first ever bid on E bay, I am currently the highest bidder, hope it works out.
Went to watch the fireworks at Roudhay park on fri, was fantastic, I made Parking and ther e was sparklers (also a minging burger but we won't dwell on that!!!)
Had lunch at the Living Room (first time I have gone in as always looked poncy) i would highly recommend the chicken caesar salad.
Also went to the open day at the uni, very useful (and well catered) so in the next couple of weeks will be busy applying.
Going to do some gardening today.

The Mighty Quim

Don't you think the word Quim is fantastic. Some friends and I recently decided it should be used a lot more. Just ask Miss W about Mr. Quimming Wang..........
Having a good week. Plans for new year starting to be thought about, Bonfire night on friday - yipee - i love bonfire night. Also work is going really well, so far this week have been the pub and the seaside, unsure why i ever thought I needed to progress forma support worker to a manager, at the moment i am loving my job. Also going to a mature student open day at york Uni on sat afternoon, to start properly looking into doing my masters next year. So all in all a food week.
Might bake some parkin - we'll see (its a yorkshire thing).
